Meet Fotini and Stavros
FS Events is a wedding planning and styling company based in Athens, Greece. The name comes from the two people behind it, Fotini Michopoulou and Stavros Kardakos, who actually met while working at the same venue years before they started the company together. Fotini was handling venue promotion; Stavros was working as a maitre d’. What brought them together professionally was the same thing that defines their business today: they both care deeply about doing the job properly.
Between them, they bring over 22 years of experience across advertising, corporate events, venue management and event styling. They plan weddings not just in their home city of Athens but across Greece, Crete, Mykonos, Santorini, Ios, Paros, Corfu, Zante and beyond. They’ve also worked with couples from across the world, planning weddings that span cultures, religions and continents, always shaping each celebration around the couple rather than a template.Their philosophy is simple: by the end of the planning process, they’re not just your planners, they’re your friends. Based on my own experience, and from everything couples say about them, that’s exactly right.

What inspired you to start FS Events Greece?
Fotini and Stavros actually met while working at the same venue, Fotini in venue promotion, Stavros as a maitre d’. They realised they shared the same work ethic: always there, hardworking, close to the couple, making sure nothing fell through the cracks. FS Events grew from that shared approach, and from a genuine love of bringing people’s visions to life.
Where in Greece do you plan weddings?
They’re based in Athens but plan weddings all over Greece, the Athenian Riviera, Crete, Mykonos, Santorini, Ios, Paros, Corfu, Zante, Hydra, Milos, Sifnos and beyond. They’ve also planned intimate elopements, vow renewals, proposals, christenings and corporate events across the country. If you have a destination in mind, it’s worth asking them..
How do you approach each wedding differently?
They start by getting to know you, your personality, your style, what matters to you, what your budget is, and what kind of day you want to have. From there, every decision is shaped around that picture. They work with your budget rather than around it, and they bring in vendors who genuinely match your vision. They’ve planned everything from intimate 20-person elopements to large multi-day celebrations for international families, each one completely different.
What services do you offer?
Full wedding planning and on-the-day coordination is their core service, from venue scouting and vendor sourcing right through to managing the timeline on the day itself. They also handle design and styling, floral direction, catering coordination, lighting, stationery, favours, guest gift planning, and logistics for international guests. Essentially, if it’s part of your wedding, they’ll take care of it.
What’s your advice for couples planning from abroad?
Start earlier than you think you need to, the best venues and vendors fill up quickly. Get on a video call before you commit to anything, because the relationship with your planner is everything. And once you’ve found people you trust, actually trust them. The couples who enjoy the planning process most are the ones who hand over the detail and focus on being excited. Good chemistry with your planner makes the whole experience something to remember, not just something to get through.
